Want Ketchup with That Vote?
Talk about a niche... seems that some entrepreneurs see an opportunity to create a brand of ketchup for George W. Bush fans to compete with the Heinz brand. The reason? Teresa Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, got the bulk of her $500 million portfolio through her Heinz inheritance. So these creative thinkers have come up wtih "W Ketchup" and "Bush Country Ketchup." Of course, a lot of folks like to keep their politics close to their vest, but if you're talking about a presidential election with the two major parties, even if you only get half of the voters, how many millions of potential customers are you talking about? And think about how much press coverage these two new brands of ketchup are getting! Got a product you can lean left or right? Worth thinking about at least, huh?
